Fleet library holds more than 150,000 circulating books, exhibition catalogues and periodicals, as well as our institutional archives.
With its collection of artifacts, high-powered microscopes and other tools, this space allows for deep investigations into connections between art, design and living systems.
This interdisciplinary lab offers a shared space for learning and making with the help of advanced tools and technology, and also hosts seminars, studio courses and specialized faculty and grad-student research projects.
RISD students have full privileges at Brown’s extensive research libraries, and graduate students may enroll in courses at Brown at no extra cost.
Teaching and fellowship opportunities
Through exploration, practice and research, this certificate program allows for focused study in the area of collegiate-level studio teaching—providing a meaningful edge for the academic job market.
Graduate assistantships let you propose a self-designed Wintersession course, through which you can also earn an official certification of your teaching experience at RISD.
Funded by the New York-based textile company Maharam, this fellowship supports summer internships around the world that advance social justice and/or sustainability with an emphasis on the STEAM disciplines.
