Theresa Daddezio
Using the metaphor of body as container, Theresa Daddezio explores notions of consciousness, fragility and sexuality within the language of painting and its history of abstraction. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including Reworlding at DC Moore Gallery; Holding at Van Doren Waxter and Kristen Lorello, New York, NY; Painting As Is II at Nathalie Karg, New York, NY; and Augurthyms at Hesse Flatow, New York, NY. Work by the Brooklyn-based artist was featured in issue #152 of New American Paintings, The New York Times, Art Maze and White Hot Magazine, among other publications. She participated in the Sharpe-Walentas Residency in Brooklyn, NY and the Wassaic Residency Project in upstate New York. She currently teaches at Pratt Institute and RISD.
