Nima Shariat Zamanpour
Nima Shariat Zamanpour is an architect and artist based in Boston, MA. He currently serves as a project manager at William Rawn Associates and is the co-founder of TULPA, a research group that explores the connections between architecture, language, craft and technology. Nima earned his Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and holds Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Economics and Art from UC Santa Cruz.
Nima’s research interests encompass computational graphics, survivalism, simulations and Science and Technology Studies (STS). At William Rawn Associates, his work focuses on campus and city planning, as well as a range of institutional projects.

ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTION
SECTION DESCRIPTION
This course introduces the beginning student to the origins, media, geometries and role(s) of projection drawing in the design and construction process. The student will learn systems of projection drawing from direct experience, and be challenged to work both from life and to life. Subjects such as transparency, figure/ground, sciagraphy, oblique projection, surface development, volumetric intersections, spatial manipulation and analytic operations will build on the basics of orthographic and conic projection. The course involves line and tone drawing, hand drafting, computer drawing (Autocad) and computer modeling (Rhino).
