Bob Mohr
Bob Mohr is a “third culture kid”—born in Libya and raised in both Pakistan and Iowa—who has worked across the US and in Europe, Asia and North Africa. He is a devout generalist who believes in treating every project as a unique opportunity to create something meaningful and beautiful. The people for whom he is designing have always been the strongest influence on his work, and he has learned that his ability to listen and understand is more valuable than any formal education. Great architecture considers the impact of identity and culture on design, and he always aims to approach the work with healthy doses of passion, patience and empathy.
Driven by a passion for equity, Bob believes that all people deserve great architecture. Every project is a new opportunity to have a meaningful and lasting impact on individuals, communities and the planet we all share.

PRINCIPLES OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
SECTION DESCRIPTION
This is a course about becoming a licensed architect, a business professional and an active, engaged and responsible citizen. It is intended to help prepare students for the challenges and opportunities confronted by a life in Architecture. Lectures are organized around four themes: The architect as a trained and certified Professional in traditional and alternative careers; the architect as an operative in the world of business and commerce; the origins of architectural projects; and the detailed work performed through professional Architectural Contracts. Regular panels, composed of RISD alums and other allied professionals provide an external perspective on all elements of the course, and allow students the opportunity to direct discussion in ways appropriate to their needs.
Majors are pre-registered for this course by the department. Enrollment is limited to Architecture Students.
