Antonia Craig
Antonia Craig (she/her) joined RISD in the summer of 2024, bringing more than 20 years of experience working across various areas within higher education—from admissions, student finance, curriculum and faculty development to strategic planning. Prior to joining RISD’s leadership team, she worked as an advisor to senior leadership at Parsons School of Design at the New School as the assistant dean of strategic academic planning.
As special assistant to the president, Craig serves as a trusted advisor to the Board of Trustees on matters pertaining to stewardship, governance and operations. In her leadership capacity, she ensures that both Board and Cabinet meetings run efficiently, allowing both bodies to function as high-performing, effective stewards of RISD’s future.
In previous roles, Craig has worked closely with university leadership and governance bodies across student, staff and faculty populations to advocate for equitable and inclusive practices in the workplace, and curricula and pedagogy that responds to student needs and interests in the classroom. Her focus remains on being embedded within the community to stay informed of and to support opportunities for individual and organizational development, while maintaining and developing systems and processes that meet the needs of many stakeholders.
Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in communications studies from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in human resource management from Keller Graduate School of Management.
