Health Services offers an after-hours non-emergency health care hotline: 855 659-6668.
Managed by Nurse Response, a nationwide URAC-accredited health call center, the line will offer an additional layer of support for our students when the campus Health Services Office is closed. Students who are not experiencing an emergency health issue can call the line for advice on how to manage a health concern.
This tele-health system is staffed by multi-lingual healthcare professionals and utilizes nationally recognized triage guidelines to instantly assess the student's health need and provide recommendations. The hotline is designed to provide reassurance to students and the healthcare advice they need when they need it. Students will be referred to the appropriate source for routine, urgent or emergency care. Once a call is received, the student's health concerns are also automatically
relayed to RISD’s Health Services Office, allowing for appropriate follow-up and continuity of care the following day.
The system also offers an online and audio library of health and wellness information that supports and empowers healthy decision-making. There is also support for behavioral healthcare concerns and crisis interventions. The service is for students only and is not designed for parents to call for information.
The hotline is NOT for emergencies. For immediate safety concerns for yourself or for another person, please call 911 or Public Safety at 401 454-6666. RISD has a staff of EMTs who are available for on-campus medical attention. The hotline does NOT replace RISD’s Health
Services Office, which is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 am – 8:00 pm, and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
