RISD Animators Stand Out in Ottawa

For the third time in three years, films by RISD Film/Animation/Video majors stood out at the most recent Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF). RISD won Honorable Mention in the 2010 Best Animation School Showreel category, after earning top honors for presenting the best amalgamation of student-made animated films in 2009 and 2008. (Note: the 2010 winner, Tokyo Arts University, screened a reel showing graduate student work only, whereas the films RISD screens are all by undergraduates.)

Held each year in mid-October, the OIAF is the largest animation festival in North America, attracting jurors, submissions and film lovers from throughout the world. RISD’s 2010 School Showreel featured films by Heather Kahn 10 FAV, Dylan Ladds 11 FAV, Kenneth Onulak 11 FAV, Jonathan Seligson 10 FAV, Kim Weiner 10 FAV, Ted Wiggin 11 FAV and Caleb Wood 11 FAV.
